Apart from the obvious one – Spam – the thing that winds me up most is people who don’t know how to behave on a discussion forum.
This includes things such as SHOUTING, ie posting all in uppercase, asking a question even when the answer is clearly there already, and doing various other things which make me roll my eyes and think that the person is a complete twit.
Forum Netiquette would be a useful subject to cover.

More forum gripes from me. You’ve already said in one of your postings that the golden rule is, “if you don’t like it here you are free to go elsewhere”.
This seems fair enough to me, so why do twits frequently threaten to go elsewhere unless you change things to suit them? GO! We don’t care. Just go.

A mailing list gripe…
Why is it that people don’t edit their responses to posts to include only the part they are responding to? Typically, this happens from so-called “top posters”.
1. It doesn’t look very neat.
2. You have to read *down* to find out what the person is talking about.
3. It makes the e-mail much larger than it needs to be, especially if this is a response to a response to a response to a response, and so on.

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier, David – I’m not sure why the system didn’t notify me. Anyway, I’ll cover it in an entry soon.
